On July 27, 1957 he married Frances A. Taylor. Then went on to receive his DDS degree from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry in 1959. Dr. Morton then entered the Army Dental Corps in August of 1959 and served for 21 years retiring in May of 1980. In 1966 he completed his Orthodontic Residency at University of Missouri in Kansas City. He held the rank of Colonel and was a consultant in orthodontics to the Surgeon General and served tours in Germany and Korea.
Dr. Morton enjoyed winter and spring in Florida for the last 32 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Frances A. Morton.
Dr. Morton is survived by his daughter Joan E. Pittman; grandchildren Ashley Pittman and Connor Pittman; siblings Nancie Motley and Carlton Morton; a cousin Wayne Yates; nieces Michele Wilson and Taylor Kenestrick; several grandnieces, and a brother in law Landon Taylor and family.
Burial with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at 9:00.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to American Cancer Society, Chatham Presbyterian Church or First Presbyterian Church, Bonita Springs, FL.
