“Upon completion of this project, we at TCCFS will be able to provide our students with the enhanced digital training needed to simulate funeral planning with the use of technology currently being used by professionals in the field,” says Frank Walton, Program Director of Tidewater Community College, and “This grant from SCI has assisted in making the implementation of this concept possible.”

The goal of the SCI Advancing Mortuary Science Education Grant is to promote the development of innovative funeral service programs that provide opportunities for students to develop their skills in delivering exceptional customer care and service.

“Service Corporation International is proud to participate in the ongoing educational process and program enhancements which we anticipate will prepare students for the dynamic customer driven changes confronting funeral service professionals today.
